Create Glowing Artwork To Display Near Or On Your Home Bar

A black-light, neon paint, fuzzy velvet poster paper, and frames can be used to create art that can be displayed near or on your home bar. When the black light is turned on, ultraviolet rays will be emitted. These rays will be absorbed by fluorescent surfaces and re-emitted, resulting in a glowing effect.

The Display PIeces

Your home bar may currently reflect some of your interests, including a particular animal or a recreational activity that you like or a rock band or a movie star who you idolize. If you have stemware, coasters, and other accessories that feature a particular theme, try to tie this into the design that will be painted across each fuzzy velvet surface.

The blackness of the velvet will not impede the visiblity of each painted design that is added to each sheet of paper. This type of paper contains a thin coating of velvet. Paint that will be brushed on, paint pens, pastels, and markers can be used to decorate the paper. This will not put a limit on how many art materials you intertwine to acquire the desired effects.

Purchase small containers of paint from a paint store. Look for fluorescent varieties that dry relatively quickly. Standard acrylic or latex paint products will not be easy to see when the black light is turned on, but basic colors can be added to each painting if you plan on showing off the artwork both during occasions when the black light is being used and when another lighting is used.

The Application Techniques And Installation Requirements

Paint may stain surfaces. Look at the list of precautions listed on each paint product. If the paint does happen to spill onto a non-porous surface, thinner or mineral spirits can be used to remove it. Use stencils, a ruler, and photographs to assist with lining up designs and copying a particular art style that you are fond of.

Apply one coat of each color of paint and wait for each picture to dry. If any of the paint has a pale or slightly uneven surface, add more paint. Use additional art supplies, if desired. Use glass-covered frames or plain frames to display each dry painting. Install the black light over the bar or along the front of it. The black light will likely contain a mount that surrounds it, and this piece will require the use of hardware. Line up the artwork underneath and use picture hanging kits to secure the paintings.
